The Story Behind SANJEEVANI AI: From Survival to Innovation

My Mission: From fighting cancer to building a future where every survivor has control over their life again.
My Mission: From fighting cancer to building a future where every survivor has control over their life again.

My Journey Through Shadows

There was a time when the world felt unbearably heavy, as if the weight of my own existence pressed down on my chest, making it hard to breathe. I remember the nights when silence screamed louder than any words I could muster. In those moments, I felt utterly alone, lost in the maze of my own thoughts, where hope seemed like a distant star, flickering dimly in the vastness of the universe. It wasn’t the cancer itself—but what it left behind. I had fought Stage 3 rectal cancer with everything I had—endured the pain, the surgeries, the toxic cycles of chemotherapy and radiation. I had survived it all. And yet, when the doctors declared me "cancer-free," my battle was far from over. LARS (Lower Anterior Resection Syndrome) took over my life. I wasn’t dying, but I wasn’t living either. Suddenly, I was trapped inside a body I no longer understood.

The Darkness

I had dreams, ambitions, and a heart full of love, yet the shadows crept in, wrapping around me like a cold, suffocating blanket. I watched as laughter faded from my life, replaced by a haunting echo of what used to be. I felt like a ghost in my own skin, wandering through days that blurred into one another, each one darker than the last.

Every meal was a gamble. Every outing carried the risk of humiliation. My own home became my prison. The unpredictability of my symptoms—urgency, incontinence, pain—dictated every aspect of my existence. The medical world had no answers beyond "trial and error."

I had won the fight against cancer, but I had lost the life I once knew.

And then came the moment that shattered me.

I sat in a doctor’s office, seeking help, only to hear the words that felt like a death sentence:

"Suneeta, we understand what you might be going through, but to be honest, only an ostomy is the solution to your problem."

Another surgery? Another permanent change? Was there truly no other way?

The Turning Point

That day, I walked out of the clinic with a lump in my throat, the walls of my reality closing in on me. I could not accept that my only choice was to give up and surrender to a permanent, invasive procedure. There had to be another way. Then came a moment that changed everything. I was sitting on the edge of my bed, tears streaming down my face, when I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the mirror. For the first time, I saw not just the pain, but the flicker of resilience buried deep within me. It was a small spark, but it was enough to ignite a fire. I realized that I could either continue to be a prisoner of my despair or fight to reclaim my life.

I had spent years working in data science, AI, and bioinformatics—analyzing complex systems, predicting patterns, and extracting insights from vast amounts of data. If medicine didn’t have the answers, maybe technology did?

I started looking for a solution.

I am not just searching for a solution for myself—There are thousands like me, suffering in silence, dismissed, unheard.

What if we could predict and manage LARS symptoms the same way we predict weather changes?

What if an intelligent system could analyze patterns, food intake, stress levels, and biological signals to help survivors regain control over their lives?

That’s when the idea for SANJEEVANI AI was born.

The Climb

I am not just surviving—I am actively testing the solution I built. As the first user of SANJEEVANI AI, I have begun to see small but meaningful improvements. The frequency of my symptoms is decreasing, and for the first time, I feel a sense of understanding and control over my body—something I had lost after cancer.

But the journey to build SANJEEVANI AI hasn’t been easy. I am battling my own health while navigating the complex world of AI-driven healthcare innovation. It’s a race against time—one where every breakthrough, every insight, isn’t just a technical achievement, but a lifeline for people like me.

I am reaching out to mentors, experts, researchers, and survivors, relentlessly testing ideas, analyzing data, and working tirelessly to develop an AI-powered Quality of Life (QoL) companion—a system designed to help cancer survivors track symptoms, analyze lifestyle patterns, and receive real-time, personalized insights to manage their condition.

How SANJEEVANI AI Works:

  • AI-Powered Symptom Tracking – No more trial and error. Users log daily experiences, and the AI detects symptom fluctuations and patterns, making sense of what’s happening inside the body.

  • Predictive Trend Analysis – Instead of reacting to symptoms after they happen, the AI anticipates trends, identifying correlations between diet, stress, activity, and symptom severity to help survivors take proactive action.

  • Personalized Wellness Insights – From nutrition and hydration to lifestyle adjustments, the AI learns from each user and tailors its recommendations in real-time to improve quality of life.

I will no longer just survive—I am building something that has the power to change the way LARS and post-cancer life are managed forever.

The Light

For the first time in months, I see a glimmer of light—a light I had long forgotten existed.

It’s not the kind of light that suddenly bursts into your life like a miracle. It’s quiet. It’s slow. It’s in the moments when I eat without fear, when I step outside without panic, when I sleep through the night without being jolted awake by severe pain, discomfort or uncontrolled incontinence.

And this light didn’t come from medicine, in fact, I am not on any medication. It came from clarity, data, patterns, and purpose.

Through SANJEEVANI AI, I’ve begun to decode my own body—what helps, what harms, and what heals. I am no longer lost in confusion or at the mercy of unpredictable flare-ups. I finally have a system that learns with me, understands me, and stands by me—just like I hope it will for thousands of other survivors.

But the brightest light of all?

It’s the belief that this story isn’t just mine anymore. It belongs to every cancer survivor who was told, “This is your new normal. Learn to live with it.”

I refuse to accept that.

The light is knowing that we now have a chance to redefine what post-cancer life can look like—not just surviving, but truly living, with dignity, control, and hope.

Embracing the Journey

This is just the beginning.

As the founder, the first user, and the first believer in SANJEEVANI AI, I will continue building—for myself and for every survivor who feels forgotten once treatment ends.

The journey ahead won’t be easy. There will be challenges, setbacks, and questions we haven’t yet answered. But there will also be breakthroughs, insights, and lives changed.

I will keep collaborating with scientists, technologists, and survivors. I will listen, learn, and evolve the platform every single day. I will let real-world experiences guide the algorithms, and let empathy lead every decision.

In the future, SANJEEVANI AI will grow into a personalized health companion that empowers cancer survivors with:

  • Predictive symptom forecasts

  • Tailored nutrition and lifestyle plans

  • Data-driven coaching for daily wellness

  • And eventually, the ability to connect with doctors, caregivers, and communities who truly understand their journey

It will not be “just an app.” It will be a lifeline. A compass. A companion.

And as SANJEEVANI AI grows, so will the light it brings into the lives of those living in the shadows of survivorship.

Because no one should have to fight this battle alone.

I will embrace the journey—not only for myself, but for the thousands like me, waiting to reclaim their lives.
